Ondelay mama!

Instead of killing an entire night mocking Dancers With the Stars, Jesse decided to spend the night putting together a few pictures of the recent shenanigans in addition to the mocking. We are settling in just fine here in Richfield. Jesse is really liking his job, still getting into the groove. It has made it easy working with great people. Lindy likes the town as well, is meeting some really great Richfieldians, and is finally just about over her withdrawals from Costa Vida. Surprisingly, the mall-withdrawal is not nearly as bad as she expected. Finn calls this place a "village" for some reason, is liking pre-school a lot, and loves being outside way more often than we ever have been. Lark is, for the most part, apathetic and would be just as ornery here, in Ogden, in Denver, Tahiti, pretty much anywhere. We've been busy. Here are a few of the latest:

We went to a lovely wedding at Bear Lake for Lindy's cousin Brandee and her squeeze Christian. They threw a great party and we are so excited for them.

Somehow, Lindy talked Jesse into going to Disneyland in October. He has been resisting this for a long time. He finally caved after it was agreed to spend half the time at a beach. Things were arranged and G-mas Kris and Becky as well as G-pa Neil were able to come. It was a ton of fun, pretty magical, and a total surprise for Finn on his 5th birthday.

Since Disney in October, Finn and Lark absolutely love Jack and The Nightmare Before Christmas. We have watched it almost daily for the past two weeks.

We got home from the trip just in time to hit about 15 houses for trick-or-treating. Here is G-ma Diane toting the little princess.

Well, once again, had to go through hundreds of pictures for the above. We left a lot of good ones for long, cold, dark winter days and will break those out to cheer us up sometime. Actually, we probably won't do that because we are lazy bloggers. Party on party-people.

Goodbye Ogden....Hello Richfield!

Our last month has been jammed packed. We have packed up, moved, partied in Mexico, fished at Fish Lake, celebrated birthdays, celebrated the 4th and 24th of July all within the last 30 days. It was madness! We are now Richfield people. Four days after we moved in we went on a graduation trip to Playa Del Carmen with two of Jesse's fellow residents. Lindy was a nervous wreck for weeks leading up to the trip about leaving here babies. Once we arrived in Mexico she only had a couple meltdowns and survived the rest of the trip quite well. We are so glad that we were able to get away to such a beautiful place and with some amazing company. We had such a great time and dreading the reality of getting back to work once we got home.

This was the last night in our Ogden house. Finn and Lark were paying their last respects to Finn's cardboard house. Lindy was off crying somewhere because she wanted to bring it to Richfield with us. The house had Finn's measurements and little hand prints on it.

We rented scooters for the day and toured the whole island of Cozumel. Lindy had to have her very own scooter, and about crashed the first five minutes!

After Mexico, we came back to Richfield for one day, did the laundry, then headed to Fish Lake for a family reunion with Jesse's family. Thanks Neil and Beck for the wild times.

After Fish Lake, we came back to Richfield and finished unpacking. We are having a pretty good time here so far. Lots of nice people and a little slower than we are used to. Jesse thinks Richfield is going to be the future of Utah-- very desirable in his opinion.

Graduating and Growing Up.

Our poor blog is definitely on the back burner these days. Things have been a little crazy lately, between trying to find a house down in Richfield (which has been the biggest headache ever) and wrestling two boogers-for-kids. Finn graduated from preschool and Jesse finally graduated from residency. With Jesse graduating, it has brought on new stresses like actually having to officially grow up now. He is no longer a student after 11 years and has to find a real job. We are moving in a few days- which is crazy- and beginning the next phase in our lives! We are all healthy and happy. We are also getting ready to buy us some guns and four-wheelers so as to fit in in Richfield.

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to!

We usually don't do this, but we are doing our second post in a week. Crazy us. We just wanted to let our neighbors know that the hood has been cleared of all hooligans and criminals. We found the bad guys' secret lab and destroyed it, all of Doctor Doom's crew are in jail.

We just downloaded something like 700 pictures onto our computer. We have put just a couple on the ole blog to prove that we are alive. Things are wild as usual- kids running amuk every which way, Lindy (and sometimes Jesse) chasing the little buggers down and teaching them some new swears, the rigors of preschool and work, family weddings, blah, blah, blah... Much like our lives, these pictures have no order. So fasten up, its about to get crazy up in here.

Where does time go?

I really can't believe how fast time goes, especially during the holidays. Hopefully things will start to slow down a bit. I was in charge of Thanksgiving at my house this year and this almost sent me straight to the loony bin. Everything turned out great in the end and we all survived. Finn has been loving preschool and he loves his teacher Miss Jennie. She is wonderful. He is such a good kid and I still have moments where I want to make him sluff school so he can just stay home and hang out with his mom. Lark is getting so sassy these days. Her personality is starting to show and I can't tell if it is going to be fun or if I am going to be in trouble. She is so sweet and she loves her brother. She can dance, she says a few words, and she is the best baby ever....good thing she is our last! Christmas has come and gone and we are now in a new year. December was a crazy month. Jesse was back on call and picking up extra E.R. shifts so it seemed as though he was never home. He was on call for Christmas so we celebrated early at our house on the 23rd and it was the greatest thing ever. We stayed in our pajamas all day and Finn was able to play with his new toys and we didn't leave the house or have to go anywhere. Christmas was a different story. I was by myself with the kids and having to go to all the different houses to do our visiting was a little hard but well worth it. My kids are healthy and happy. I have an amazing husband who spoiled me rotten and I couldn't be happier. I did just hit the big 30 on my birthday and other than I can barely move after I have shoveled snow and the loss of bladder control every once in a while, I am feeling good. That is all for now!

We did make it down to Temple Square this year with the grandparents and it was lovely. Amazingly, we didn't lose any kids or adults. We couldn't take many pictures because Lark wasn't feeling real great and any time spent setting up a picture is time that Finn has to wander off. We lasted about one hour.

Lots going on, no underlying theme

One day, when we are filthy rich, we are going to hire a blogging assistant. Maybe we will just get a reality t.v. show. We are not nearly exciting enough and will never be filthy rich so we will have to deal with infrequent, choppy blogs. We've had a great couple months. Finn has started preschool and loves it.

First day outside of Busy Bee Preschool. Finn can no longer pose normally for pictures. Every smile is goofy. This will be a recurrent theme in this blog.

Finn Diego, nervous and probably a little weirded-out about sitting in a strange place and mom just leaving.

Luckily, Finn has his girlfriend, Mika, in the same class.

One of the great things about school is all the little projects that he gets to bring home daily. This was cowboy day.

Little Lark turned one in September. Lindy still loves her a lot, Jesse is starting to warm up to her some. She caused too much heartache at birth.

Here she is at her first birthday smash. She mostly played with the cake, doesn't care much for putting stuff in her own mouth.

We went down to Richfield for a couple days. They are looking for a new doctor in town. We went to go check it out a little and stopped by the pumpkin patch for train rides, tractor rides, and picking out our perfect pumpkin. We met up with Lindy's dad, Lee, and his wife, Diane, who live around there.

Here is the crew. Quick poll: Do you think we should move to Richfield? We might have to join the Tea Party, buy some 4-wheelers to get to church, and learn about alfalfa farming. Could be fun.

We also celebrated Finn's fourth birthday in October. This is his circle of friends, helping open the presents.

We went to some balloon playland. We are missing a couple kids in this picture. Too much work to gather the troops when they are scattered in balloonland. Finn has not dumped his head in water. He is a sweaty gorrilla.

Finn with his birthday cake. It is a very cool thing to make fancy cakes for your kids. Turns out, we are not cool or fancy. Either is the store we bought this bad boy from. Their best cake was brown with spiders. We added the balloons-- I guess that is pretty fancy and cool.

Finn got lots of good stuff. He has good friends and family. He got these boxers and was pretty sure that they are just too awesome to be covered up. We let him wear them however he wants.

This is not a sacreligious Halloween costume. Jesse has been on a shaving strike and his gross beard has been out of control. Some young lady he works with has a mother who is a local artist for the LDS church. Although some people saw Jesse's beard and thought of terrorists, mountain men, and bums, people with an eye for things recognize this as Jesus-appearing. She asked Jesse to model for her. She took a ton of pictures and plans to paint a few of them in the future. She will obviously have to change the wig color and we all know that Jesus doesn't have teeth like in the above picture. It was a really fun experience for us. She had our kids pose in a few of them as well. The only downside is that it made Jesse's God-complex even worse.

This is Lin's traditional "Martha Stewart Pumpkin". She had an idea a few years back that she could make stripes all the way around a pumpkin and this would be way cool. Physics disagreed but she still makes this ever year and it is actually the favorite of people who visit. A second story. We had the hugest pumpkin plants this year but only a few little pumpkins. The largest uncarved pumpkin is the only one from our crop. We actually had a few more but the neighborhood monkeys snuck into the backyard and took them for themselves.

This is Spiderman Finn trick-or-treating at our house. He is getting really good at the whole thing. By the end, he was practically shouting "Trick or treat!" and after the candy was given would politely respond with "Thanks. And Happy Halloween."

As you can see, it has been a fun couple months. We have a ton of pictures that we had to skip through. Lindy is still alive, we will have to put a picture of her on this just so you all know. That will have to be later. It is time for din-din and World Series.

Finally updating our blog!

I can't believe how summer has already come and almost gone. Time goes by way too fast and the thought of winter quickly approaching makes me want to puke. I am seriously toying with the idea of moving to St. George. Things in our house have been great. I have healthy, happy babies. What more can you ask for? Our days consist of lying around the house in our pajamas until about 11:00, we get ready for the day, hit up the old McDonald's, play around a little, then the all-important nap time. This is Lindy's time to catch up on all her smut TV. Without her "my time", Lindy turns into an automatic beast so this is a very crucial part of her day! Sadly, the lazy days of summer are coming to a close. Finn is getting ready to start preschool, which means a possible end to nap time for him. I took him to his first day of preschool today to meet the teacher and do a little activity. I got to stay there with him the whole time. His teacher is great and so cute. After we left I bawled my eyes out for about ten minutes then was finally able to control myself. I am going to be a nervous wreck when Tuesday comes around- Finn's first first official day when I just have to drop him off and drive away. I am going to be a freaking mess. The thought of kindergarten?!? I am going to have to have Jesse sedate me or something... Seriously. In other kid news, Lark is just as happy as can be all the time. She eats, she sleeps, and she poops. She is just starting to cruise a little and the days of two-footed travel are near. Summer travel has been good to us. We were able to go to Glenwood Springs, Colorado in July for Jesse's family getaway. The trip started off in lovely Green River, Utah where we spent a night at the Roosters Roost or somthing like that- the biggest dump hole hotel ever. We spent the night there because more than half of us were riding the train to Colorado way early the next morning while the rest of us drove the cars. Finn loved the train and Larky is always happy so I am pretty sure she didn't mind the train at all. It was so nice to get away for a few days and it was so beautiful up there. While we were there we celebrated Jesse's parents 40th anniversary, went bike riding, did a little hiking, went swimming, and just played around. It was amazing. Thank you Neil and Becky for a great trip. My mom also sent us on a little trip to Park City a few weeks later. We stayed at The Canyons Resort and all I have to show for that is one picture. I am so lame. It was so much fun to spend time with my mom. The kids played at the pool, we did some shopping, ate out, and mostly just hung. Thank you mom- it was wonderful. In between trips, our summer time has been spent doing the regular- farting around, eating out too often, going for lots of walks and the like. We were able to squeeze in family night bowling and made it to the obligatory yearly Ogden Raptors game. That pretty much sums up our exciting summer. Now we are getting ready to head to Payson for our annual Labor Day craziness. In a couple weeks we have a work retreat for Jesse at Sundance and in two weeks my baby is turning 1. Can you believe that? Because I can’t. Get ready for a heap load of pictures!

We just got Finn his costume for Halloween and if you can't tell, he is going to be Spider Man. He wears his costume everyday and wants to sleep in it. I told him that he can't sleep in it because he gets too hot. This is what I found when I went to check on him!

I have no excuse why it has taken me so long to update...other than I am just plain lazy! Everything is going great in our household. Jesse is officially a 3rd year resident now and he has his first official interview next week. It is crazy after all these years of school, the time has almost come for us to actually have a plan on what we are going to do and where we will end up next. Finn is so fun. He is crazy. We put him in a two week swim lesson and he loved every second of it. He loves playing in the water and if he had it his way he would go swimming every day. I on the other hand did not like swim lessons one bit! Besides Finn sinking to the bottom of the pool on the first day, it is a lot of work getting ready for and then cleaning up. I am a sissy though. Right now Finn is obsessed with anything Toy Story. He goes around shouting his imaginary laser at things and he says the funniest things sometimes. I am so lucky that I can be with him all day everyday. My world is going to be turned upside down when he starts pre-school this September. I am going to be a freaking mess! Larky girl is getting so big. She has five going on six teeth. She is crawling around all over the place. She is climbing stairs (which is a nightmare!) and pulls herself up on anything she can grab a hold of, resulting in quite a few dings on her head as she loses her balance. She is such a happy and good baby, it has been a blessing. Lets see...anything new and exciting with me....NO! Maybe nothing other than the fact that I am a closet Twi-hard fan. My sweet, sweet husband surprised me with a Twi-fest party (after I moped and complained for a few days.) They had dancing and a bunch of other activities going on. Charlie Bewley, who plays Demetri in Eclipse, was there signing autographs for ONLY 20 bucks... which I had to pass on! It was exciting to see him there and he is quite the looker in real life! The party was from 7:00pm until 2:30am. We are party animals!! My mom, bless her heart, was nice enough to come and take care of our babies for us. I loved every second of it. Jesse saw a few work ladies there and was totally embarrassed by being there. He came up with the excuse that he was there for medical purposes in case anyone passed out or whatever! Then I went to see it again just a few hours later on a girls' night out with my mom, Jesse's mom, and two of my sister in-laws. If I could, I would probably see it at least three more times! In addition to the Twilight hoopla, have had a few get-togethers for birthday parties and reunions. Jesse had a two week rotation down in Nephi so the kids and I went down for a day to see him and we met some friends down there to see the Manti pageant. We just got together with family for the 4th of July and I am so lame I didn't take one picture. It was a great not-too-hot day. We are planning on a Colorado trip in two weeks with Jesse's family and I think that is the next exciting thing going on. Party on!!!

Jesse had a week off of work the end of April, so we decided that we needed to get out of town! We flew to San Diego to spend some nice quality family time. We invited the Grandparents to join in on the fun. Jesse's parents stayed the whole time and Lindy's mom stayed for a couple days. It was so nice to get away. Finn loved the beach. He loved having the waves chase him and running on the sand. He would go for walks every morning on the beach and could never get enough of it. One morning he ran for 1 mile straight on the sand, which caused him to have a hurt toe so he walked with a little limp and even that couldn't keep him away. We went to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, did some shopping, ate out a lot, it was great. Thank you Neil, Becky and Kris for a wonderful time. We are ready to go back. So it has been a month since we went and Finn still says that he wants to go back to the beach house and play on the beach. We might have to move to California!!

Marathon Post

Sometimes it seems as though I have just posted something and then I look at all of the new pictures I have taken and realize how far behind I am. Everything seems to be in order these days. My kids are healthy and happy and as a mother, that is all I can ask for. Lets see...things that are new... Jesse's mom took all of her daughters on a much needed ladies' retreat. We met 2 of Jesse's aunts, his Grandma, and some of the girl cousins in Midway. We stayed up there for 2 nights and I was completely rejuvenated. I bawled my eyes out for the first 20 minutes driving there but after listening to whatever I wanted in the car, I was okay for the next few hours. I only had one meltdown the whole time I was there which is really good for me. Jesse did an amazing job watching the kids. He is such a good dad- I am sure the kids didn't miss me one bit. We ate out, went shopping, went to a movie, did some crafts, and played some pretty ridiculous games- it took some of us all we could do not to pee our pants. Thank you so much Becky for everything.

Later in the month, we took the babes to Disney On Ice. Both Grandma Kris and Grandma Becky met us there. They have all these fun little displays everywhere which sucker you in to buy these extremely overpriced gadgets. Of course, your kids just have to have these gizmos. After seeing how cute and excited Finn was I think the whole thing was worth every penny.

My little Lark is now 6 months old. We decided to pierce her ears and I have to say I think it is the cutest thing ever. Here are her stats: she is 16 pounds-14 ounces and is in the 50% for weight, length and head circumference. W e couldn't be happier. She is such a good baby. She can sit up all by herself. She shakes her head no (she obviously has no clue why she is shaking it, but mom thinks she is brilliant!). Finn gets her to laugh on a daily basis and my heart just melts watching them together. Other than that, we are just plugging along at the daily grind. I think my kids are the cutest things ever so I apologize for all the pictures I had a hard time narrowing it down.

Part II: It has been a week since I started this post and feel like I am already behind again so I thought that I would add a few more things. It truly is a marathon post. Jesse's brother Nate and his family came to Ogden for a little getaway. We were able to meet them at the Treeehouse Museum, went to dinner, and then we took a dip in the pool at their hotel. It was so nice to see them and spend some time together. Finn loves his cousins.

We had a wonderful Easter. We went to Jesse's parents on Saturday for the annual Easter egg contest and then to my mom's house on Sunday for dinner. Happy Easter everybody.

This is a little random, but I got this idea from my sweet friend Mandi. I asked Finn a bunch of questions and here are his answers. But first, a little praise to my friend Mandi- thank you so much for being such a great friend. I love that we can just pick up the phone and talk for hours (if our kids would let us) about the same silly shows we watch and whatever else we can come up with. Thank you for finding me the sweetest necklace with my kids' names on it. For the rest of you, it is from "The Vintage Pearl" if you want to check it out! I love it. I have now bought my mom one and my sister in-law just bought one. Anyway Mandi, you are the best. Thanks.

Haiti

Many of you know that I was lucky enough to go to Haiti three weeks after the earthquake on a medical mission. I've been a little hesitant to post anything about this trip but Lindy and many friends insist, so here goes: I was actually planning on going during this same time before the earthquake hit with a group called International Aid Serving Kids. When the "event" (this is what the Haitians call it) happened, I didn't think we would be going because the group wasn't exactly organized for disaster relief. We had an awesome native Haitian as a leader and through connections he had in Haiti, we were able to get into the country and set up a clinic at Leogane, a city near the epicenter of the quake. Needless to say, it was a great experience. There is way too many stories to be told on a blog but I thought a few pictures could tell part of the story. First off, the destruction is incredible. Pictures really don't do it justice. It is a country full of rubble and chaos. Miles and miles of fallen buildings, people living in the streets, piles of garbage, tent cities and shanty-towns. When you are standing in the middle of a street and everything around you is destructed, your mind goes numb. Honestly, I don't think my brain can comprehend it.

This was driving through Port au Prince on our way to Leogane. We actually had to fly into the Dominican Republic and rented buses to drive 10 hours into Leogane. Port au Prince is a total cluster. I have no idea how people live there. Sadly, we Americans would point out a neighborhood of shanty homes and suspect that these were new since the earthquake but our guide pointed out that many were not new, just the extremely poor parts of town now experiencing tremendous growth.

This was everywhere. Lines down, piles of rubble and garbage, people living and selling stuff outside of their fallen homes/buisnesses.

Leogane, Haiti. This used to be a large open air market that is now little shacks and makeshift tents as homes. In Leogane, 80-90% of the buildings fell or are condemned. I spoke to hundreds of people while there and only one person was sleeping in their home. Most had set up shacks or tents outside their homes.

We actually set up clinic at and LDS chapel that had not fallen. There were hundreds living on the church property. This is one of the guys who we hired as security. He took us on a little tour and stopped at his house. This is his car and what remains of his house. He was stuck under the rubble for a couple hours but managed to crawl out on his own. There are no standing walls left of his two story house- the building next to his is condemned.

This is nurse Angie and one of the first kids we saw. He was stuck under the rubble for a few hours as well. A block landed on his right thigh/knee and he had a huge laceration. It was actually healing very well and the kid looked great. We were actually quite suprised at the people who came into our clinic-- not nearly as many infections or trauma as we were expecting. A lot of people with the more serious injuries had seen a doctor already.

This little girl had already been seen and nicely casted by another group of doctors shortly after the quake. We were able to replace her cast and give her this walker. She hadn't been able to get around, other than carried, since the cast was placed. This was just one of the little-big things we were able to do while there.

I just like this kid's hair. Despite the destruction after the quake, the people are the bigger story. Almost everybody lost somebody and their home. Despite this, they were remarkably happy and moving on with life. Many expressed hope. They are truly a beautiful people. The lady in orange was my interpreter. We actually had a generator with working fans but my interpreter was worried that the cool air would make her sick so I ended up sweating off a few pounds on the trip. She was awesome and had no appreciation for space-bubbles.

We had a couple dentists in the group who did some amazing work. Dr. Mike Richards was nice enough to let me yank a tooth on this poor guy. I have a new respect for dentists.

This is one of the little guys living on the church property. He loved the balloons we brought. Turns out, he also loved gum and asked me everyday and almost every hour--" Hey, hey..... whitey....gum?"

After clinic all day, we would go for walks around town to say hi to folks and see some of the damage. The kids in Haiti are incredible. They love their picture taken. This picture goes to show that karate is a universal language of awesomeness. Leogane is like a huge campout because everybody is sleeping outside in the street. They play in the street, sell stuff in the street, eat in the street, and really build their new temporary homes in the street. It is surreal.

This little girl is Wendy with her mom and brother. She was my girlfriend on the trip. She too was living on the church grounds with her mom, dad, and siblings. I almost packed her up and brought her back with me. She would find me each night and we flirted a lot.

Here is a little guy that had a block crush his right thigh during the quake. He actually had it x-rayed shortly afterword and told it wasn't broken. He came to clinic for decreased eating. I saw him limp into clinic so I took a look under his shorts and found this. It was a terribly infected crush injury. We had an orthopaedic surgeon in our group who had set up camp at a hospital a few miles away. We had this kid go over there and have the infection drained. He will probably do okay but will likely always have an infection in his bone that will occassionally flare and then drain through out his thigh for the rest of his life.

This is in Leogane on one of our walks. One day I went on a walk with a few nurses and supplies in one of the tent cities. People slowly filtered in to be seen. Most of them wanted me to look at their small children, all of whom I saw that day were well for the most part. It was encouraging to see the love that many had for their kids. Sadly, we also had some parents bring their kids to us at clinic and ask that we take them back to America with us.

Another cute little family that I saw in clinic. This woman lost her husband in the earthquake. Her main concern was that her daughter wasn't eating well since the quake (a pretty common thing among the kids-- both for lack of food and too much stress). The serious looking fellow is another interpreter. He is a teacher at an English school that no longer exists.

One last picture of the kids living on the church compound. I would try to go out and play with them each night. They were so fun. (See Wendy?)

I have way more pictures and stories but will save them for another time perhaps. It was surely a huge bite of humble pie and I feel very lucky to have gone over there to help, if only a tiny bit. Shortly after getting home I was wrestling Finn on our carpeted floor and couldn't help to think that I was in a different world. Thanks to Lindy for letting me go!

Time for an Update

Even though February is the shortest month it has been the absolute longest month for me. It has been so busy for me that you would think that time would have just flown by, but no... My baby is now five months old which seems crazy to say, she is amazing. She loves to eat and is the happiest baby ever. She is in the 50th percentile for both weight and height, which is an amazing thing for our household. She is such a fun baby. She is starting to giggle and she smiles all the time. She has no desire to roll over yet. She can move to her side but that is as good as it gets! Finn, is pretty dang funny these days and keeps me on my toes. Jesse has taught him some tooting tricks, which Jesse is extremely proud of. He has some funny phrases. His new favorite thing is anything Super Mario Brothers. He loves playing it on the Wii. It is the first thing that he talks about when he wakes up and it is the last thing before bedtime. I am feeling extremely blessed these days, I have beautiful healthy babies, a warm home to come home to an amazing hard working husband and a great family. I got hit with some reality once Jesse got home from Haiti (which he will have to do a post about and show some pictures.) We just have things very easy and I am very grateful. Now on with some pictures!

I am such a slacker these days when it comes to my blog. Two months have gone by and there has been so much going on that I feel a little defeated on where to begin and what to add in the short amount of time that I actually have to play on the computer. Here are some of the things that have been going on: The first thing is our little Finn is officially potty trained, and was amazing at it. It was one day and he only had one accident and has bee fine ever since. He goes to the potty all by himself and we just couldn't be happier. We have had a wonderful time during the holidays spending time with friends and family. Finn was so sweet during Christmas and it was so much fun this year to watch him open presents. Lark was awake long enough to watch the presents get opened and then fell fast asleep again! Lindy's mom slept over to wake up on Christmas morning with us which was very nice. We blessed our lady Lark, who is doing amazing. She is sleeping, eating and pooping...what more can parents ask for! Lindy celebrated a birthday and is now in the last year of her twenties! Jesse is slaving away at work (the story of his life) and is getting ready for a trip to Haiti coming up in February. I think that is about it for the Spencer fam. Get ready for the marathon of pictures!

Lark had her official two month appointment. She weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds 8 ounces and we couldn't be happier. It is so nice to have a baby that likes to eat for a change! She is such a good baby and we are enjoying every minute of her. Finn had his first official hair cut, which was very exciting. Lindy usually attempts to cut his hair but it is quite the ordeal, so Lindy decided to take him to Cookie Cutters. Finn loved it until she started to cut his hair and then he got really quiet. Finn was very brave and held very still while the nice lady finished. He got his balloon and candy and got all teary eyed as soon as we got to the car and said that he had pokies all over. It broke Lindy's heart. As soon as we got home we changed Finn's shirt to get rid of the pokies and all was well. Other than that nothing new to report.

This year's Harvest

Well our little Lark is almost eight weeks and she is as cute as ever. She is such a good baby other than the first week of her life, which we will remind her later how very naughty she was! She is a complete joy. She is starting to smile all the time and do her cute little noises. It is still a miracle to Lindy every time she poops and is a momentous occasion. Finn is the sweetest big brother ever. He kisses her all day long and tries to be so helpful (tries is the key word). Sometimes he rocks her a little to rough and when he gives her her pacifier I don't know if it is helping or making her cry worse. But he loves her and it is so sweet to see. We also celebrated Finn's 3rd birthday. It is crazy that our little boy is growing up. He is spoiled rotten and is getting cuter and more fun by the day. Life is good. It is still a total adjustment trying to balance and take care of two kids, but all in all life is great.

Little Lark is five weeks old today. It has been a little crazy getting used to life as four. For all of you out there with five+ in the family, find comfort in knowing that we have been praying lots for you. This seems like it would be mission impossible.

The long and skinny about Lark and the NICU: She didn't ever need surgery and we spent only a few days at Primary's. Since coming home, the "holy crap" factor has hit and we are struggling with a newborn, just the normal stuff. Turns out, we are probably not as good at newborns as many of you. We are learning to live with that fact. We are happy just to be home and that we have a healthy little squirt- so blessed.

She has been a joy and a delight. Finn is slowly getting over his jealousy. He has always been nice to "baby sister and Lark", but has given his 'rents some heartburn.

Many of you know, many probably don't, but baby girl Lark Carolin made her grand appearance on Sept 22. Essentially, we went to the doc and he told us that we could walk across the hall and have the baby right then if we wanted. Lindy jumped all over it and a few hours later she was here. Lindy did totally awesome and is the unofficial spokewoman for epidurals. At any rate, our girls were perfect.

Lark weighed in at 5.13, was 20 inches long, and we fell hard quickly for her.

Things were going really well for the first little bit and we were so excited to move this party home and get on with life as a foursome. Life threw a nasty curve. Lark was acting a little weird, not eating, no poopy, had a weird little gag. Lots of little things led to an admission to the NICU and a couple quick studies had the team thinking that she needed bowel surgery because her piping was connected right. This is a gigantic kick in the face, then in the gut, then a ninja-jab to the heart. Really, it was chilling news and we, for all intensive purposes, completely lost it. Lark was taken to Primary Childrens' for emergency surgery to put her piping together. The next couple hours were completely numbing, we had to wait to talk to the surgeons at Primary to find out more. Life threw another curve. We took our time getting down to Salt Lake, picked up Finn, made tons of phone calls, freaked and fretted about what was going to happen. We were about in Bountiful when we got a call from a nurse at Primary's who told us that Lark was being assessed by the doctors there when she let out a big poop. There has never been better news given, ever. As I write now, we are on day two in the NICU at Primary. Lark is by far the healthiest babe on the floor and we really couldn't feel more blessed that things worked out this way. She continues to poop like crazy and as soon as long as she starts eating a little better, we should be out of here soon. She does not need any surgery and has evaded any invasive testing. She is a sweet, peaceful, and happy little bird. The thought is that she had a little memrane blocking things and she pushed past it after an IV gave her the juice she needed to do so. Life's curves teach many things and we discovered a lot about ourselves, our family, and our friends. Things happen so fast and we would have totally crumbled if it weren't for our good friends and family. "Thanks" doesn't do it justice.

Again, we are totally tickled with the new one. The roller coaster seems to be slowing and we feel that Lark's poop was more than luck. Thanks again for all the kindness and love that you have all shown. She scared a lot of you and for that, Lark is sorry. We will hopefully be home soon and we would love for you all to meet our pooping Lark shortly.

Summer days, and the living's easy

Not a whole lot to update, just a three-pack of pictures because we have been blog-stalking much but not adding to the blogging world ourselves.

We spend most our days trying to figure out what we are going to do that day. A lot of times we go for walks around the neighborhood and toss rocks of all sizes in the creek. Other times we play Wii bowling, Finn's new favorite thing, and finish up with a beat-down on boxing. We often turn on the Fugees "Best-Of" album and practice sweet dance moves. We've hit up O-town's kid-friendly places like the Dinosaur Park, Treehouse Museum, Costa Vida, free movies at the Egyptian, gang-training, and the splash park. We apparently do not spend a lot of time taking pictures.

Lindy is still pregnant. She is 34 weeks. She is confident that baby sister will be here in three weeks and certainly before 6 weeks. She loves standing on her feet for long amounts of time in the dry Utah heat, especially when Finn is doing his whining-almost-three-year-old-act.

Jesse is still working- in the ICU this month. He encourages you all to not get sick.

Happenings

I am getting older and larger by the day! I am going to be thirty next year which is a scary thought, and I just celebrated my ten year High School reunion. It was very entertaining to say the least, but I am very glad that I went. It was so fun to play catch up with people I haven’t talked to since High School and to see how some have changed! Life is going pretty good. I am now officially 29 weeks pregnant and I'm counting down. We have had a busy week. Jesse had a conference down in Salt Lake so we stayed the night at my mom’s on Wednesday and then the Grand America hotel on Thursday night. It was pretty dang fancy. But it was so nice to get away for a few days. It was like a mini vacation. I was able to have lunch with my mom and Grandpa and then we meet up with our friends Mark and Jenny for dinner and then a dip in the pool at the hotel. It was lovely. We came back Friday, my reunion was Saturday and then we met our friends the Anderson’s for some Weber State fireworks. So things have been very busy, but sometimes that is a good thing, it is making time go by fast. I also have some very exciting news…..are you ready…..Finn had to go to the doctors on Monday for a weight check and he weighs a whopping 25.2 pounds fully dressed. The kicker is that he is finally on the chart. He is in the less than 3^rd percent but on the chart. This is miraculous because this hasn’t happened since he was 3 months old, and now Finn is no longer a failure to thrive baby. Halleluiah!!! So we celebrated by going to McDonalds and the park!! Other than that, that is all that is going on in the Spencer household.

I have promised a few ladies that I would post a belly picture, so beware of fat lady pictures below! I also had to throw this video of Finn Diego in there. He is just so funny these days and I almost pee my pants every time I watch it. For those of you who know Finn, know how he loves his High School Musical. Jesse, his Dad and brothers decided to do a bike ride for Neil's (Jesse's Dad) 60th birthday. They went from West Jordan to Crystal Hot Springs. Craziness if you ask me. I took my time and drove in the car to meet them up there. That is the way to go!

Finn loves to swim. We (well Aunt Jodi..thank you !) introduced him to floaties and he loves them. He won't let us touch him in the pool and he will yell "self" at us meaning he wants to swim by himself. It is pretty cute to watch. He is a good little swimmer. But this is Jesse and Finn swimming in the Hot springs. It may look like the lady to the left is not wearing a top but it is a swim suit required place I promise!

This is Lindy and her belly at week 24. This is baby girls room. This is the new dresser that we got from a consignment shop. The lazy boy chair is from my sweetest husband for our 7 year Anniversary. I love it. And if you notice the bumper pad in the crib. My wonderful Mother in law, made it for me. It is all coming together!

So we are 2 months behind on this blog and I am feeling overwhelmed with where to begin. All is going well in the Spencer household. We are pretty boring over here. Jesse is busy slaving away at work. Lindy is finally over morning sickness (hooray.) Finn is as cute as ever although he has learned to throw some pretty nasty temper tantrums, and baby Girl...... is doing good and growing just as she should in mom's belly! We are really excited to be having a girl. We are still wondering what possessed us to have another child in the first place when Finn is such a handful already, but we are very excited and can hardly wait to meet our new little Spencer baby! Here are a few pictures from the last couple of months...so get ready for picture overload. I thought that I would begin with the most recent.

Jesse's parents took us on a lovely and much needed get away trip to St. George. It was so nice to just get away, play and also relax. We went swimming, hiking, played around, and Jesse celebrated the big 30 Birthday!! It was a wonderful trip!

Alive and Ready to Move.....

We are still alive here in snowy Ogden...hence the phrase "ready to move" I am so sick of this stupid snow that I am ready to pack up and move to St. George. All is well with us, we are just (well Lindy) extremely lazy these days. We have done a few exciting things. We have been visiting family, went bowling with some friends, and we made a new baby!! So we will be adding a new addition to the family probably late September early October. My official due date is October 8th, but I am thinking September because I was three weeks early with Finn that I am kind of banking on going early with this one. We are all really excited and scared out of our minds at the same time. I am 12 weeks and counting down! Finn is talking more than ever and is starting to repeat everything we say... which is making me and Jesse have to watch our mouths a little bit more! Finn has been so fun and is such a good helper to his mommy. He has learned the word puke and gross really well because it seems that that is all I have been doing these past 12 weeks, but I do feel that I am on the up and up. I am a lazy terd these days and especially today when it is a blizzard outside, I just have no desire to move! Poor Jesse has been slaving away at work and is ready for a break. Thank goodness he will have a week off in April and will be celebrating his 30th Birthday. So all is well, and once again we are behind as always. Here are a few pictures of our going ons.

We were looking over our blog today and decided that we look entirely too yuppie. We don't want people to get the impression that we are fancies. The following pictures will hopefully convince you all that we, in fact, lean to trashies. It will also give you a smattering of what we have been up to for the past couple weeks.

Obviously, Jesse. Note in this picture the following:

1- Jesse's pants. Although he would like to think that the hipster kids would appreciate the brown, fuzzy patch/pocket and make his pants look high-end-gangsta', it really is nothing more than a crappy patch put on by el-cheapo so that he won't have to go buy a new pair. He would like to mention, the brown fuzzy pocket is completely functional. This material was from an old curtain that used to hang in Finn's room.

2- Sunglasses- This is actually a pair of sunglasses that G-ma Kris got after her cataract surgery a few weeks ago. Jesse thinks his boy Kayne would appreciate these but this is debatable seeing that the brand "Eye Shield" is not exactly dope.

3- Location- Laramie, WY. Just the fact that we were there says a lot about us.

Lest you think Jesse is the only trashie, a picture of Lindy sporting the eye shields. We were a little hesitant to post this picture because she is talking on a cell phone, maybe giving you the impression that she is fancy. She cusses on the phone all the time.

We were in Denver last week, totally mooching off our good friends, Nic and Casey. Here is a picture of our evidently homeless little boy jumping on their trampoline.

This really isn't too trashie but the fact that Jesse thinks he is really a rock star when he is playing this game isn't too fancy either. Finn was totally rocking as well, despite what you might think after this picture and his crossing legs pose.

This is in Denver at our friends' home, scooting around with baby Ashly. We let our booger tromp around in his diaper anytime, anywhere.

Yep, that's us. The family that lets their kid play in the fountain at the nice mall. The floor gets all wet and then we joke about somebody slipping and falling on it. We laughed even more when a sweet little old lady walked in that direction a few moments after we left the soggy mess.

We have crazy time a lot. We just say, "Finn, time to be crazy," and let what will be, be.

We are done with the trashie and fancie talk now. Hopefully we have gained a little street cred. This is a picture of Finn Diego and Maddi hitting the slide in Denver. Jesse had a week off so we took advantage and drove out there to see friends with babies that were born after we left. We had a great time and plan to mooch off everybody again soon. Jesse mentioned that he really felt sick as they were driving into town because he loves Denver so much. It was 70 degrees while we were there. Coming back to freezing, snowy O-town was a little bit of a downer.

It has been an eventful last few weeks. We went to Pocatello to go visit Jesse's sister Rachel who just had a beautiful little girl. It was so fun to get away for a day and hold a new baby. Finn had so much fun playing with his cousin Ava. She is such the little mother and would always keep Finn in take and tell him when it was nap time, time to eat, or take a bath. She is just too cute. Lindy's Dad and his wife came up from Richfield to celebrate a late Christmas, and while they were here we went sledding and enjoyed a nice dinner out at Iggy's. Lindy also turned 28..... and was spoiled rotten which also included 3 birthday parties. So it has been busy around here... but lots of fun.

Well another year has almost come to an end. It has been a crazy couple of weeks trying to fit in all the holiday parties and Jesse being on-call on Christmas which meant we were able to celebrate Christmas a day early which was great and a little sad...but all in all it was a lot of fun. It was so nice to hang out with family and do our Christmas traditions. Here are just a few pictures from the last two weeks! But Korryn was in town at we met at Rumbi's for lunch. It is so funny getting together , you seem to talk about all the old flames from High School and who you have seen lately. December is for lovers

A quicky to let you know we are still alive. Things are going well and somehow we have been busy but when we look back, we haven't been doing much. It makes you dizzy if you think about it for too long. Some fun things that we have done lately and took a total of zero pictures:
***We went caroling the other night with a bunch of people from Jesse's residency program. It was out of control but a lot of fun.
***We hit the Ogden City Christmas Village downtown O-town and managed to not get stabbed or robbed or anything. In fact, Jesse thinks this display may be a little better than Temple Square because they sell hot cocoa and there was a live band playing Christmas tunes- funk-style. Ogden is awesome.
***Lindy has seen "Twilight" twice. This could have been the highlight of her year.
***Jesse went with his parents to the "Messiah-sing-in" in Draper. He has missed this over the past few years as we have been in Denver. This is quite possibly the highlight of his year. This year he tried to sing tenor with Neil. He thinks they hit about 30% of the notes correctly. This is not bad, about average.
***Finn has been introduced to Krispy Kreme doughnuts and he is down with them.

It has been wild. Because blog posts are boring without pictures, here are a few for you to enjoy. This is a great idea when Christmas parties get a little boring. You flap your lips like you are making motorboat sounds and snap a picture. You can get some real winners sometimes. Below are the first four that we took. It seems like these last few weeks have just flown by. The last four days alone in October we had Finn’s Birthday party, Finn’s Birthday, My Grandpa’s Birthday party, Jesse’s Brother’s birthday party, Halloween and Jesse’s Sweet Grandpa Bus passed away.

Jesse’s Grandpa Bus was an amazing man and we are going to miss him a lot.
