Meet the Andersons

We are desperate for friends. For some reason, even though we think we are the greatest people ever, we don't seem to make friends easily. We must be socially inept or something. Since we are now living in Ogden, we thought that we would join a gang and that way we would have friends all the time, not to mention the protection we would get from our hommies. Lucky for us, we have met some really great people here so far. One of the couples we now do a little hangin' with are the Andersons. Aaron is a first year resident with Jesse and there seems to be a little more than friendship there. Ann is lovely and is the great mother of Daxton, their three year old son. Finn digs Dax. "Dax" is one of Finn's favorite words. He says it everytime we go outside or get in the car. The Andersons probably think they drew the short straw when for some reason we, the Spencers, clung to them. They ended up moving a couple blocks from us and we are sure that any day now, we will see a "For Sale" sign on their front lawn. Until then, party on dudes. Here are a few pictures of this truly remarkable family. Pray for them.

The Utah State Fair was a huge success as usual.

The ladies and their boys. Finn was going for those earrings.

Pooper-scooper.

Enjoying some corn-on-the-cob at the fair.

Finn's favorite thing at the fair was the pig-pen. They were more disgusting than ever. One of the little porkers peed on the face of the other little porker and the second porker didn't even move. We have sworn off bacon.

Finn trying to get a look at the tiger show.

Melts your heart...

Looking forward a few years...

Lookin' for the ladies at the fair. Carnie ladies are the hottest.

Aww....

This was after our ride at the Lagoon. It was amazing that the kids made it without any tears. Party animals.

If you look closely, you may be even to see Lin's head.

Another portrait of America's favorite family, just before the fireworks on July 4th. The LaRose family is that smiling bunch behind them. Ben is also a first year resident with Jesse. More on them later perhaps...

Dax looking all innocent but you know his three year old brain is churning with mischief.

Onion Days didn't stink

For those of you who don't know, most of Jesse's extended family lives in Payson, Utah. Every year at Labor Day, the fine town of Payson throws a bash and both sides of Jesse's family get together for reunions over the weekend. It is always a wild and crazy time. This year was no different. We start the festivities with a golf tourney. Even though Lin's favorite part of the day is driving the cart and looking dead sexy, her team actually used a few of her drives this year. Sadly, her team took last place. Jesse's team was victorious mostly due to the other three people on his team. He stunk it up but had a good time was had by all nonetheless.

The goddess of golf.

The weekend then consists of hanging out at grannie's house, going to the parade, eating lots of good stuff, and going to the park and carnival for scones dirty roller coaster rides. Below are a few pics from the weekend. It is very sad, but we didn't take any pictures of any carnies.

This year there was a big water feature in grannie's backyard. We are getting fancier and fancier.

This is Finn with his cousin Maddox taking wagon rides down the hill.

Finndy on the annual hike to the grotto up Payson canyon.

Kaylee, another cousin, at the top of the grotto.

Sorry there aren't too many photos. We play too much and forget the camera. Below is a little clip of one of the newer traditions at grannie's- the annual dance party. For some unknown reason, ungraceful Jesse always has to help things get going. He would like everyone to know that the clips in this video are far from his finest. Finn is quite the dancer lately. We will have to get some video of his breakdancing moves on here soon. All the cousins are quite good on the dancefloor. We are a very happenin' bunch.

Team Edward

I am dedicating this next post to my friend Mandi and also to my sister in-law Teeny. May Edward forever be remembered in our hearts. What suckers we are!

My mom Kris, me, Teeny my sister in-law, and Jesse's mom Becky decided to go to the release party at Barnes and Noble for Stephenie Meyer's book "Breaking Dawn". I made us all T-shirts so we could all be wrapped up in the moment. This was the first time I have ever been to a book party of some sort and it was absolutely crazy! And it was also the most fun I have had in a long time. I am so glad that I could sucker these other three ladies to come with me and join my loser self in this madness!

What a happening bunch of ladies we are.

This is just part of the crowd that we had to deal with. Like I said...Madness.

Barnes and Noble hired actors to play Edward and Bella. And if you wanted to you could spend half the night in their reception line just so you could have your picture taken with them. We decided to get a picture ourselves! The Edward was pretty dreamy... they should have hired him for the movie instead of the guy they picked!

We had to have a little midnight snack while we waited for our books so we went across the street to hit up IHOP. So I forgot to mention that this party was from 8:30pm to 1:00am.. 1:00am for us anyway. There were still a few hundred people behind us in line to get their books.

Me and Teeny with our cokes trying to stay awake!

Okay... so enough of the book nonsense. I was privileged enough to watch Ava my little niece on Friday. She is so funny and her and Finn are just cute together. I am lame so I only took two pictures, but oh well..what can you do.

I had to add this picture because of how sweet my baby looks when he is sleeping. Maybe because when he is awake his new favorite words are "NO" and "Mine". So he is not my sweet little boy right now when he is awake!

Fun Times.

I wish that I had a good excuse for just now posting our 4th of July Pictures, but the truth is.. I (Lindy) am a lousy blogger. I feel like the only spare time I have is to check out others blogs instead of updating my own. So these will have to do until next month! As a update, we are still alive in Ogden. Jesse is busy being a Doctor and Finn is keeping his mom company and entertained on a daily basis. So all is well!

This is a little video of Finn. I never knew that the word shoes could sound so cute!

For the 4th of July the Spencer's threw their annual party and they rented a blow up house for the kids, which was a major success. Good job Grandma and Grandpa!

Finn couldn't get enough. He loved it

Finn showing off his mad bouncing skills!

Our little runt acting so tough!

This is Finn with Ava. I wish that these two could get married but since she is his cousin that would just be sick and wrong. But we think Ava is the cutest little thing ever! And they play so cute together.

Jesse's family threw him a little surprise party as a Congratulations for Graduating. We celebrated at the bowling alley with the whole family. This was Finn's first time bowling and he loved it. I think that since his height and weight might be an issue for some sports maybe he could take up bowling!

My brother and his family came over to hang out and this is Finn and Kennedy reading some books.

Braxton and Jesse playing some X-box

Finn loving his m&m's

I got this little car blow up toy for Finn so that when we went swimming he could play with it in the pool. Well, Finn insisted on playing with it in the tub... so I guess what ever makes them happy right?!

Settled In

We are officially out of boxes and enjoying our new home. It is the first time in our six years of marriage that we haven't had to share walls with anyone so this is huge. It is so nice not to be woken up in the middle of the night to music or to hear someone go pee and flush the toilet. This last month has been great! We have been spending every weekend at some family event of some sort or at a "getting to know you" thing for Jesse's residency program. It is so nice to be close to family again and Finn has been loving playing with all of his cousins. Jesse started his first official day of residency and has begun to play Doctor, which is crazy. He is freaking out but I know that he will be just fine. There are a total of six residents and all of them including their spouses are so incredibly nice and normal. We have been spending a lot of time together this past week and it has been lots of fun getting to know them and their families and know that Jesse will be in good company on those long hours. Here are a few pictures of what our last three weeks have entailed!
Jesse decided to be adventurous and climb a mountain by himself. I feared for his life, but he did return home safe and sound and said it was a nice get away to clear his head

He's crazy
What a mountain man!

I bought this little kiddie pool for our yard and Finn loves it. He was so funny and cute.

This is Finn's new "cheese" face
Finn having his little before bedtime snack. Lay's Baked potato chips. Yummy!

It is South Ogden days, so we decided to go to the Carnival and let Finn try the carousel for the first time. I think that Jesse was enjoying it way more than Finn

Finn started to scream so they had to stop the ride early, but then he cried when he was off because he wanted to get back on. He is just never satisfied!

We went to a park with Jesse's fellow residents to enjoy some music, junk food and fire works.

Some of Jesse's fellow residents and their cute families

We went down to Jesse's brothers house to celebrate Jesse's moms Birthday

Jesse's mom Becky and cute sister in-law Jodi

Finn doing his cheese face once again!

Finn enjoying some M & M's

All cleaned up !
